Hello, everyone.
I just wanted to write a short message to share the release of two new musical projects I’m really proud to have had some involvement in bringing to life.
First, Casey Dianne, a Columbia-based singer/ songwriter, just released their new album, Welcome Home. It’s available on Bandcamp and coming to streamers in the next few days.
We recorded the album at my house, and I engineered and mixed it, as well as playing bass and some other instruments. Casey’s songwriting is strong, unique, and personal, evoking everything from Tom Petty and Bob Dylan to Taylor Swift.
You can listen at the Bandcamp link below, or follow this link to presave for streaming or download from other platforms.
A few weeks ago, my friend Kiah Creed released his album, The Dream Chaser. Kiah has been a good friend for a long time, and this project came out of a period of a lot of upheaval in his life. It was really an honor to be able to work with him and some of my favorite Columbia musicians, including Sean Thomson (Post-Timey String Band, Numbtongue, and many other bands), Kristen Harris (Boomtown Trio, Resonant Rogues), and The Water Kickers.
Kiah draws from theatrical country music in the style of Dolly Parton, but what makes these songs special is that they grapple with a lot of heavy feelings in a way that never sacrifices his personality.
You can listen to his album on Bandcamp. It will also be availalbe on streaming and other digital platforms soon.
If those whet your interest, or if you’re interested in other ways to support this newsletter, I also have a solo singer-songwriter project called Quark Lepton and I play bass in an instrumental rock band called Burrito Wolf. You can those projects by using the links below (or by clicking on the project names in the previous sentence).
And if you’re interested in recording a project, or would like me to mix, master, or add instruments to your track, please reach out. My rates are very flexible.
Thanks for reading!
