“Moms” 4 Book Bans

Moms for Liberty, as most readers will be aware, is a well-funded and politically-connected national activism group focused on an extreme version of what they call “parental rights,” but which mainly translates as efforts to ban books (they memorably tried to ban a book about Martin Luther King, Jr., in Tennessee. While often presenting themselves as “grassroots” activists (which might be the case for some local leaders and affiliates— it’s hard to tell), the national group is clearly well-funded, well-organized, and was founded by political operatives with connections to the Florida Republican party.
